Understanding Tire Warranties
Many manufacturers offer different types of tire warranty coverage. Coverage can vary by product, usage, maintenance, and manufacturer policy, so customers should keep proof of purchase and review the terms that apply to their tire.
Standard Manufacturer Warranty
A standard manufacturer warranty generally covers factory defects or issues with materials and workmanship on new tires. Damage from punctures, impacts, sidewall bubbles, accidents, or road hazards is usually not covered by this warranty type.
Road Hazard Coverage
Some manufacturers offer road hazard coverage for damage caused by curbs, potholes, punctures, or similar impacts. These programs often have time, tread-depth, usage, and inspection limits.
Limited Mileage Warranty
A limited mileage or treadwear warranty may apply to eligible tires. If tires wear out before the stated mileage, reimbursement may be prorated and often requires documented rotations and proper maintenance.
Tire Brand Coverage
Nokian, Michelin, and Pirelli may provide manufacturer warranty programs depending on the tire model and usage. Eligibility is determined by the manufacturer's terms after review.
Starting A Warranty Claim
To start a warranty review, gather your order information, photos of the issue, maintenance records if available, and any supporting details. The product may need inspection before a decision is made.
